The following is a list of documents that you must provide to us as part of your compilation assignment. This list applies if you are responsible for your own bookkeeping. It will enable us to prepare your financial statements efficiently.
General
- Trial balance at year-end (Excel format if possible)
- Internal financial statements at year-end
Cash in hand
- Bank reconciliations of all bank accounts at year-end date
- Detailed list of outstanding cheques and deposits at year-end date
- Bank statements for all accounts at year-end date
Receivables
- Chronological list of accounts receivable at year-end date
- Details of other receivables and advances
Stocks
- Inventory at year-end
Property, plant and equipment
- List of the year's acquisitions and disposals
- Invoices for acquisitions made during the year
- IT information :
- Specify new or used equipment
- Specify whether application or system software is involved
- Acquisition date
- Information for each layout :
- Disposal proceeds
- Initial purchase cost
- Purchase date of asset sold
Accounts payable and accrued liabilities
- Detailed list of accounts payable at year-end date
- Details of accrued expenses at year-end and supporting documents
- GST and QST returns for period ending on year-end date (only reports comprising balance receivable or remittable)
- Details of other creditors and advances
Income taxes payable
- Detailed analysis of transactions in tax accounts for the year
- Previous year's notice of assessment and any tax correspondence received
- Identification of entertainment and meal expenses
Share capital
- Details of changes in share capital (if any)
- Copy of articles of incorporation (including description of share capital) and any amendments during the year
Revenues and expenses
- Breakdown of professional fees by supplier
