We are looking for a rigorous, structured and motivating senior accountant who wants to play a key role in the management of the firm and the supervision of our team. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategy of a growing firm and to progress towards an executive role in the medium term.


This role is for someone with a high level of accountability, able to work under pressure in a time-critical accounting environment. Flexibility in working hours, particularly during peak periods, is required.

What you do

  • Actively participate in bookkeeping for our corporate clients
  • Supervise a team of 2 to 5 employees, monitor workload, organize priorities and oversee deliverables
  • Ensure critical deadlines are met (T2, payroll, GST/QST returns, etc.).
  • Act as lead representative for selected customers, including presentation of deliverables and management of business relationships
  • Act as a positive leader for the team and actively contribute to nurturing a culture of mutual support, empowerment and fun at work.
  • Help define the firm's objectives (profitability, customer satisfaction, performance) and ensure their execution
  • Conduct performance appraisals, identify areas for improvement, and support the professional development of each team member
  • Take charge of recruiting and integrating new talent (or actively collaborate in the process)
  • Demonstrate a high level of accountability in all aspects of the role
  • Suggest improvements to internal processes and technological tools 
  • Participate in outreach initiatives such as recruitment events (optional)

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Accounting
  • 5 to 8 years' experience, including hands-on experience in supervision or team management
  • A CPA designation is an asset, but not required.
  • Experience in a firm or growing SME/startup
  • Excellent command of Canadian tax and accounting deadlines, including DAS, GST & QST, T2, instalments, etc.
  • Digital tools: QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, collaborative tools
  • Functional oral and written bilingualism in French and English
  • Proactive, rigorous, structured and human, with a high tolerance for working under pressure
  • Experience in compilation missions

Working environment

  • 3 days a week at the Ville-Marie office (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
  • Possibility of 2 days a week of teleworking (Tuesday and Thursday) when the situation allows.
  • A few days a month, visit certain customers at their offices
  • Permanent full-time position.
